General here,
Time to go over some blue spells for EDH. There are a few interesting things that show up in this particular set, but staying with the theme I will only be going into two cards for edh. The first, and most important is clearly going to be Baral, Chief of Compliance. He gives blue decks, as well as any deck that splashes or uses blue as one of its colors, a ton of control and power on the field, all for 2 mana. Not only does he make all your spells 1 cheaper, something that has an incredible amount of power in EDH, not only against aggro decks which means you have field wipes one turn early, but also in late game bigger set ups, when 1 mana per spell can make a huge difference, and give you a whole new range of options.
The second one worth mentioning is Mechanized Production. While it seems smaller in some ways, since getting 8 of something seems unlikely in EDH unless you built specifically around it (i.e. rite of replication type effects) the first effect it uses is really useful. In any Breya type deck, this card very quickly becomes invaluable. Not only does it allow you to copy some of the most powerful creatures each turn (think Wurmcoil Engine) but could also be used to copy a ton of incredibly useful and utility style artifacts such as Blinkmoth Urn and turn your deck into a mana generating powerhouse.
See you tomorrow when I look into Black,
The General.
